Owen Swan, an alum of Spring Arbor University's soccer program and a former Lansing Common player, joins Troy United FC as the new Sporting Director.
"I am extremely excited to join the club and work with a young, ambitious staff who is passionate about growing the game in the city of Troy," said Swan. "I'm ready to get to work for TUFC and continue building upon our goals ahead of our first season in the Midwest Premier League."
As the club looks ahead to the upcoming MWPL season, President Louis Osowski is excited for what Owen will bring to the club. "When Owen initially came on, he worked very hard and took on even more than we asked of him."
"Taking on projects like game day operations management, on top of handling communications with our players and coaching staff, we realized he was ready to move into this position. I'm excited to see him make the role his own."
This move sees former Sporting Director Steven Guipe move into his new role as Vice President alongside fellow VP Joey Verhelle. Osowski is excited for the structure that this move will bring to the organization.
"Steven came in as our Sporting Director at a time when we were very busy and instantly started taking on extra work wherever he could. His hard work and stoic advice enabled him to take on this role even before we actually offered it to him."
"It was an indisputable promotion and together with Joey, we now have a strong triad composing our management."
